For this concert, Flûte Alors! joins forces with lutenist Sylvain Bergeron to explore the vast Franco-Flemish Renaissance repertoire. At the heart of this program: the rose, a source of inspiration for the most beautiful songs celebrating the love between two beings, and a symbol of the Virgin Mary in sacred repertoire.

Celebrating Piazzolla’s 100th anniversary, the OCM will present his Four Seasons with Prix Goyer Award winnar Marc Djokic (violin) and the world premiere of Odawa composer Barbara Croall’s Gwekaanma, a concerto in four movements for pipigwan (Anishinaabe wooden flute) representing the change of seasons.

Indeed, following on the successes of Vivaldi and the baroque Gypsies and Telemann and the baroque Gypsies, recorded on the Analekta label, Caprice now completes the trilogy, adding an oriental touch to the series by placing baroque Gypsy music side by side with The Oriental Miscellany collection published in Calcutta in 1789.
